Gristle: weird tales is the forthcoming story collection from Jordan A. Rothacker. This forth book from Rothacker explores similar themes found in his last three novels but in an eclectic range of short stories, parables, and vignettes. Religious and philosophical themes about how humans engage space, place, and mystery still abound, but Gristle is undeniably weird, touching on horror, dissonance, power dynamics of gender and sexuality, and even love. A lotta love.
Rothacker did his undergraduate work at Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY. He currently lives in Athens, GA where he did his MA in Religion and PhD in Comparative Literature; and he is quite proud of his three novels, The Pit, and No Other Stories (2015), And Wind Will Wash Away (2016), and My Shadow Book by Maawaam (2017). His wide range of work–which includes journalism, essays, book reviews, poetry, and short stories–can be found in such publications as Vegetarian Times, International Wristwatch Magazine, The Flagpole, Mayday Magazine, The Exquisite Corpse, The Believer, Guernica, Dark Matter, Curbside Splendor, Cleaver Magazine, and Heavy Feather Review along with several others.
